After several seasons among artists, clubs and agencies, there’s something I’m now sure of:
In music marketing there are two kinds of teams: those who decide by feeling and those who decide by data.
I’ve seen campaigns that thrilled but didn’t sell.
Perfect dashboards that said nothing.
Creatives talking about “energy”, analysts talking about “conversions”, without listening to each other.
For years people believed creativity was pure intuition, “feeling the moment”. And yes, without that there’s no soul.
But that magic isn’t worth much if it can’t be repeated.
Data doesn’t kill emotion. It sharpens it.
It tells you which story connects, which audience reacts, which format converts and when interest cools down.
I’ve seen curious things in reports:
It’s no coincidence. It’s a pattern. And once you learn to read those patterns, you can repeat the emotion with surgical precision.
Good entertainment marketers don’t measure for the sake of measuring. They measure to understand:
Instinct is vital, but instinct without data is ego with pretty lights.
And data without instinct is Excel without soul. The secret is making them dance together.
Use emotion to connect. And data so that connection isn’t luck, but system.
Because yes: data doesn’t dance.
But if you listen to it closely, it tells you exactly who will fill the dance floor next season.
